Multi-factor authentication using authentication mobile app

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) enhances security by requiring multiple forms of identity verification. At Okanagan college, MFA will involve your username and password (first factor) plus an additional factor via a mobile app or hardware token. The three possible factors are:

  1. Something you know (password).

  2. Something you have (mobile device or hardware token).

  3. Something you are (biometric data like facial pattern or fingerprint).

To use MFA at Okanagan college, you need:

  • An active student or staff account.

  • A multi-factor authentication app or a security hardware token.
