91Ƭ’s Thurnheer sheds light on lessons from the pandemic in CPHR virtual roundtable

Laura Thurnheer, 91Ƭ’s Associate Dean of Science, Technology and Health, was one of four panelists on the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources (CPHR) Canada virtual roundtable on Dec. 1. Titled, “In Conversation with HR Leaders,” the session saw human resources specialists from across Canada discuss next steps on workplace recovery from the pandemic, asking crucial questions around changes made in light of the pandemic, mental health and attracting and engaging talent. With close to 300 attendees, the event also gave those watching the opportunity to ask questions via chat.

“It was an honour to participate,” says Thurnheer, who has a CPHR designation and is a member of the provincial Board of Directors for CPHR B.C. and Yukon.

“There was some very candid and thought-provoking discussion on how the workplace has changed and what it may look like in the future. While it was fairly easy to talk about the impacts of the pandemic, it was much harder to advise on what we can do to support employees and business moving forward.”

The panel also included Anthony Ariganello, President and CEO of CPHR Canada and CPHR B.C. and Yukon; Rodney Miller, President and CEO of CPHR Alberta; Manon Poirier, General Director of CRHA Quebec in addition to Thurnheer and was moderated by Carole Presseault.
